About Nick Leavens
Nick has produced hundreds of live events including concerts, plays, food festivals, lectures, experiential installations, films, and art installations. Notable producing engagements include Anna Deavere Smith’s Pipeline Project, Snapchat’s Summer Concert Series in Santa Monica, countless theatrical events, the long running “Mac Off” mac and cheese competition, and the Arab American Comedy Festival. Nick is currently an executive producer with Black Heart.

Nick is the Chief Executive Officer and founding co-owner of Black Heart, a full service worker-owned cooperative agency, specializing in digital events, XR integration, social media strategy, video production, and any technical or creative challenge you can dream up. Black Heart is a majority Black owned business, guided by the talent and principles of its team and their lived experience. Black Heart’s mission is to lead with the heart to serve up big thinking, authentic experiences, truthful narrative in a way no one else can. Notable clients include Black Public Media, the Kolibri Foundation, Alternative Roots, and the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.
Nick recently executive produced a collaboration between Bill T. Jones’ New York Live Arts, the Round, and Black Heart on Essential Demonstration: an XR Collaboration.
About Incisive
Nick Leavens is the founder of INCISIVE LLC, a broad-based consulting practice specializing Ethical Institution Building primarily for arts and social justice not-for-profits. Nick has worked at The Museum of Modern Art, Eyebeam, Atlantic Theater, Sheen Center, on projects with Anna Deavere Smith, Art Omi, North Star Fund, LES Film Festival, was the Founder and Artistic Director of |the claque| and Artistic Director of the New York Arab Comedy Festival. He specializes in strategic planning, creative consulting and concepting, artistic programming, project management, board development, audience engagement, building development, and org management. Nick was a recipient of a 2017 Endeavour Executive Fellowship awarded by the Australian Government and the first theatre professional to receive the award. He's lectured at Ohio State University, The University of Sydney, The University of Melbourne, Cornell University, and Ithaca College. He is an active director, writer and producer, creating hundreds plays and more recently working in film.
